Dr. Omalkhair Abulkhair, MD is a Senior Consultant in Adult Oncology and Chairman of Oncology Services at Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She is also an Associate Professor at Al Faisal University. Dr. Abulkhair earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from King Saud University in 1991 and is board-certified in Internal Medicine by both the Saudi Board and the Arab Board of Medical Specializations (1997). She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at King Fahad National Guard Hospital, followed by a Clinical Fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the University of Toronto, Canada. She further enhanced her expertise with training at the High Risk Cancer Prevention Clinic at MD Anderson Cancer Center, USA. She has held several key clinical and leadership positions, including Consultant in Adult Oncology at King Abdulaziz Medical City and Chairman of the Oncology Department at Specialized Medical Center Hospital. She also served as Section Head of Adult Medical Oncology at King Abdulaziz Medical City. Academically, she has held faculty positions as Assistant Professor at King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences and currently serves as Associate Professor at Al Faisal University. Dr. Abulkhair plays a significant role in oncology at both regional and international levels. She is Chair of the Saudi Breast Cancer Management Guidelines Committee and serves on multiple boards, including the Saudi Oncology Society and the Arab Medical Association Against Cancer. She is also affiliated with international organizations such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the International Society of Cancer Risk Assessment. Her contributions to breast cancer care in Saudi Arabia are substantial. She founded and continues to lead the annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium Highlights in Riyadh, improving access to global oncology knowledge in the region. She has also been actively involved in national cancer screening and prevention initiatives, including the Abdulateef Cancer Screening Program and the development of early detection programs across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region. Dr. Abulkhair has authored numerous scientific publications in local and international journals and has presented widely at medical conferences. Her work has been recognized with several awards, including honors for scientific poster presentations and an international award for breast cancer research.
