Dr. Ali Alqahtani is a Consultant in Medical Oncology at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre with expertise in gastrointestinal malignancies, precision oncology, immunotherapy, and translational cancer research. He completed his Hematology and Oncology fellowship at Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and served as an Oncology Fellow at the FDA-AACR Oncology Center of Excellence, where he contributed to advancing oncology therapeutics and clinical research. Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Medical Quality by the American Boards, Dr. Alqahtani has built a distinguished academic and clinical career focused on innovative cancer therapies and biomarker-driven treatment strategies. His current work includes leading the Colorectal Integrated Program at the Cancer Center of Excellence at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre and contributing to multidisciplinary programs in upper gastrointestinal cancers, HIPEC, and pharmacogenomics. Dr. Alqahtani’s research interests center on gastric, pancreatic, hepatobiliary, and colorectal cancers, with a particular focus on tumor immune microenvironment, circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), molecular profiling, and targeted therapies. He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented his work at major international oncology conferences, including ASCO and the Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium. His contributions to oncology research and patient care have been recognized with multiple honors, including the Conquer Cancer Foundation Merit Awards at the ASCO Annual Meeting and ASCO Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium. He also serves on professional committees within the American Society of Clinical Oncology, supporting evidence-based oncology practice and advancing collaborative cancer care initiatives.
